Jan 25 — Scheduled for executive session in the House Committee on Local Government at 1:30 PM

At this point we do not have a position on this bill. Some cities are in favor and some oppose. We do not know where the Association of Washington Cities will come down on this.
Frankly, we can see no way that this enhances the LEOFF 1 pension or its administration as to the beneficiaries. It seems to have come on suddenly without any consultation with the stakeholders and that always seems like a bad approach to legislation. It is probably best that this legislation does not advance. It is not critical and can be revisited next session.
