We are sad to report that Joe Fischnaller passed away on Sunday, April 9th. His passing represents a huge loss to all retired police officers and fire fighters. Joe, even after retiring from Seattle to Moses Lake, always remained ready to assist us at any time. He was a source for quick legal answers and an occasional letter that was used by people throughout the state. Often he provided these services at no cost.
I first met Joe in late 1979 when he was often representing Seattle Police Officers in labor issues. He had remained a friend ever since. After becoming involved in fighting the attempts to raid the LEOFF 1 pension I had occasion to work with Joe frequently in getting support for retirees who need legal advice and or assistance. Joe was always there to help.
